Rollover crash on Dakota near Bishop Grandin sends 6 to hospital

A crash that resulted in a rollover for one driver closed Dakota Street near Bishop Grandin Boulevard Friday.

Winnipeg police said the crash happened at 1 p.m. and has sent six people to hospital, five in stable condition and one in unstable condition.

The person in unstable condition was upgraded to stable later Friday afternoon, said police.

While police said two vehicles were involved in the crash, Global News reporters at the scene said three vehicles were damaged.

“The public can expect that there will be a closure in this area for some time,” said Cst. Jay Murray.

Traffic in the area was rerouted until just before 4 p.m.
