A Hamilton police officer has been injured on the job while investigating a domestic incident in Dundas.

According to HPA president Clint Twolan, the incident happened Thursday night, when the officer responded to a call, which escalated into a physical altercation.

It left the officer with a broken leg, requiring surgery.

The officer is at home recovering, but no word on charges.

Const. Lorraine Edwards tells Global News Radio 900 CHML the Criminal Investigation Division at the Mountain Station will be looking into the incident further.
