Middlesex OPP say a woman injured in a crash that left her seven-year-old daughter dead is now out of the hospital.

Police say the family has asked for privacy so they won’t be releasing the name of the girl.

The two were in a car that collided with a southbound pickup truck turning in front of them on Nairn Rd on Monday afternoon.

Middlesex County OPP, along with London Middlesex Paramedics and Middlesex Centre Fire services were called to the scene around 4:15 p.m. Monday.

A woman and her seven-year-old daughter were driving north on Nairn Road when a pickup truck heading south turned east in front of them onto McEwen Drive, police said.

That’s when the four-door car crashed into the truck, fatally injuring the young girl, officers said.

The girl was pronounced dead in hospital. Her mother was taken to hospital in critical condition, but was upgraded to stable on Tuesday and on Wednesday police reported she had been released from hospital.

The five people in the pickup were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crewdson says whether charges will be laid depends on the outcome of the investigation.
