Former Saint Mary’s University (SMU) groundskeeper Matthew Albert Percy is facing another count of sexual assault.
Halifax Regional Police say the alleged assault happened at a residence in Halifax in November 2017, and was brought forward to them on June 3.
Police say Percy and the woman were known to each other.
As a result, the 35-year-old has been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm, choking to overcome resistance and assault.

Percy’s charges adding up
Percy is currently on trial at Halifax provincial court in connection with a different alleged assault in the Armdale area on Sept. 3, 2017. It is scheduled to resume Friday.
Police say the alleged assault was videotaped.
He was arrested on Dec. 15, 2017 and is facing charges of sexual assault, voyeurism and overcoming resistance by choking.

Before that, he was already charged with sexual assault and voyeurism in relation to an incident that allegedly happened on Sept. 15.
In that case, he is accused of sexually assaulting a student at a campus dorm while he was employed by SMU. He appeared in court earlier this month and was released after two sureties agreed to offer $26,000 to secure his release.
