A dozen surgeries have been postponed after several operating suites have had to be shut down at St. Boniface Hospital.
The hospital’s air-handling system malfunctioned Wednesday, shutting down nine of its 14 operating rooms. The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority said repairs won’t be complete until late on Friday.
Sixteen surgeries scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday are being moved to other hospitals around the city.
Twelve other procedures are being rescheduled.

Patients affected by the changes have been or will be notified by the hospital. If people have a question about their procedure, they are asked to call their surgeon or doctor directly.
The WRHA said not all surgical suites are used during the summer months, which has reduced the impact of the malfunction.
