Roof damage claims piling up at SGI

SASKATOON – Claims for roof damage from this winter’s record snowfall are piling up on desks at Saskatchewan Government Insurance.

SGI says more than 700 claims have come in since January – almost seven times worse than the winter of 2011.

There were just 22 insurance claims filed in 2010.

Spokesman Gordon Giles says he expects more claims to come in during the spring melt.
