Crash involving Regina police cruiser sends 2 to hospital

A marked Regina police cruiser driven by a 37-year-old male constable t-boned another vehicle driven by a 64-year-old woman early Thursday morning.

It happened at around 3:30 a.m. CST at Dewdney Avenue East and Park Street.

Both drivers have been taken to hospital for treatment of what police said were minor injuries, both vehicles have extensive damages.

Traffic in the area was restricted for roughly three and a half hours as police investigated. A watch commander told Global News a new 3D scanner was being used in the investigation, which sped up the process.

All lanes were closed and drivers were being advised to find alternative routes.

The collision is still under investigation by police.
