Barrie police are investigating after a motorcyclist was ejected from her bike, causing serious injuries.
According to police, on Monday officers were called to Fairview Road, just north of Little Avenue in Barrie, around 9 a.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorcycle.
The investigation revealed the motorcycle was travelling northbound on Fairview Road when it lost control on a bend in the road.
Police say the 29-year-old female driver from Tiny Township left the motorcycle before it collided with an oncoming car.
Officers say the motorcyclist continued to travel into oncoming traffic, but a southbound driver was able to maneuver his truck quickly to miss the woman.
Police say the motorcycle driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of the oncoming car who struck the motorcycle was not injured as a result of the collision.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
