The BC Wildfire Service is bracing for the possibility of more activity with the warmer weather this week.

Information officer Ryan Turcot said the fire danger rating in most of the region is low to moderate, but that could change.

July and August are typically when most of the fire activity occurs.

He said now is the time when the public has to be very diligent with any use of fire, or any activities that can result in wildfires.

There has been about 600 wildfires in BC this season, with 116 of those in the Kamloops Fire Centre.
