Kash Heed calls for Bond’s and Bell’s resignation

The latest controversy to dog the beleaguered liberals has generated a call for the resignation of two cabinet ministers from inside the party.

Liberal MLA Kash Heed, who isn’t running for re-election, says Shirley Bond and Pat Bell should step down, until a controversy over a wood tower in Prince George is investigated.

Legislative bureau chief Keith Baldrey says this is unusual but it fits the pattern of the BC Liberals as they seem to be facing new controversy every day lately.

Heed wrote a blog on the Huffington Post that was posted early this morning and wrote he has become alarmed by the details emerging about the Prince George Wood Innovation and Design Centre.

There have been many allegations and rumours floating around about whether Bond and Bell were involved in the bidding process.

Both deny any involvement, but Heed says for a cabinet minister in this position it would only be right to step aside.

“This is not about Ms. Bond or Mr. Bell,” said Heed. “This is certainly about maintaining the integrity of the executive council here in British Columbia. So I took it upon myself to do an opinion/editorial in Huffington Post to list my concerns and to list my rational, to support the reason why these two ministers should step aside until the matter is formally reviewed and investigated.”
