Edmonton Oilers schedule features early season visits from Crosby and Ovechkin

The Edmonton Oilers will start the season with four games on the road and finish it with a battle of Alberta.

The Oilers first game of the 2018-19 regular season will be in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Saturday, October 6, against the New Jersey Devils. From there, the Oilers will visit the Boston Bruins (Thursday, Oct. 11), New York Rangers (Saturday, Oct. 13), and Winnipeg Jets (Tuesday, Oct. 16).

Edmonton’s home opener will be against the Bruins on Thursday, Oct. 18. That game will kick-off a four-game home stand which includes visits from Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins (Tuesday, Oct. 23) and the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals (Thursday, Oct. 25).

On New Year’s Eve, the team will welcome the Jets to Rogers Place.

The Montreal Canadiens will visit Edmonton on Tuesday, Nov. 13, while the Toronto Maple Leafs come to town on Saturday, March 9.

The rivalry with the Flames will resume Nov. 17 in Calgary. The Oilers will host the Flames Dec. 9 and Jan. 19, and provincial rivals will square off one last time April 6 in Calgary, which will be the final game of the regular season.

All Oilers games will be broadcast on 630 CHED.
