Police investigating after man hands out candy to children at London elementary school

Police are investigating after receiving reports about a man handing out candy to children at a London elementary school.

The stranger stood outside a fence of Aberdeen public school on Grey Street Wednesday at approximately 11 a.m. and offered children candy.

Police said a number of children ate the candy.

Staff at the school were made aware of the incident and police were called.

The man is described as white, between 35-50 years of age, wearing a grey and red toque and a yellow rain jacket. He had a black trimmed beard and was last seen riding a bicycle.

Police are reminding parents and guardians to talk to their children about personal safety.
