Run for the Cure

Pink tutu’s, feather boa’s and brightly decorated t-shirts filled the grounds of the Conexus Arts centre on Sunday, as more than 2,200 people came out to Run for a Cure for breast cancer.

But, behind the sea of pink, was thousands of touching stories- about survival, loss and finding strength while battling breast cancer.

As Rustie and I emceed the event, we listened to the speakers, who shared their personal stories about the disease and lent words of encouragement for those still struggling with cancer.

Similar stories were shared right across the country.  Fifty-nine communities across Canada take part in CIBC’s Run for the Cure, raising thousands of dollars for the cause.

As always, the people of Regina didn’t only wear pink, but also showed their true colors of generosity. Our city raised an incredible $426,000!
