Summerland reaches out to Humboldt Broncos

Okanagan communities continue to reach out to friends and family affected by the Humboldt Broncos hockey team tragedy resulting in the death of 15 people.

The District of Summerland is hosting a fundraising event.

It’s offering a public skate at the Summerland Arena Friday April 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with those who have been impacted by the tragedy,” Mayor Peter Waterman said. “This fundraising event is an opportunity where our community can come together to support another community.”

Everyone is welcome. Admission is by donation and skate rentals will be included.

All proceeds will be donated to the Humboldt Broncos Hockey Club.
