A fire in northeast Calgary kept crews busy early Monday.

Around 2 a.m. fire crews were called to a home under construction on Montrose Crescent N.E. for a report of a fire.

The Calgary Fire Department (CFD) said flames were seen “shooting through the roof” and that the main floor was significantly damaged.

No one was inside, but the houses on either side were evacuated. Six people forced to leave their homes, CFD said.

CFD said the fire did not spread to neighbouring homes.

No injuries were reported and fire officials will continue their investigation later this morning, CFD said.
