RCMP’s new $800,000 vehicle

RCMP in the Okanagan have a new crime-fighting tool.
The tactical armoured vehicle (TAV) is based in Kelowna, for use by the emergency response team in dealing with situations like armed stand-offs.
RCMP purchased 18 of the vehicles for detachments across the country.
Each unit costs almost $800,000 .
Besides advanced ballistic and explosive protection, the TAV’S come equipped with gun ports, a fire suppression system and infra-red night lighting.
