Onlookers watched as demolition crews brought the main wing of the towering structure down using cables.
A slew of blasting snow cannons meant to weigh down dust and debris on the work site could not contain the massive brown cloud of dust that hung in the air and enveloped the crowd of spectators.
Demolition of the former hospital forced midday road closures around the area.
The structure has not been used since 2015 when the children’s hospital was moved to its new location at the Glen Site.
