TORONTO – Tickets for Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors games will be increasing due to “cost of living” increases incurred by Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), according to reports in the Toronto Star.
MLSE President and COO Tom Anselmi told The Star that cost hike reflects increased costs.
“Our costs have gone up dramatically,” Anselmi told The Star citing increasing operating costs, league costs and players salaries as being among the many reasons for increased costs.

The NHL’s salary cap is expected to fall from $70.2 million to $64.3 million next season according to Capgeek.com.
The NBA’s salary cap will stay at $58.044 million.
Tickets are expected to go up 2.5 per cent in the 2013-2014 season and will affect both season tickets and single game tickets.
Tickets for Thursday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins start at $60 dollars for standing room only tickets on Stubhub.com. The cheapest ticket available on the website for seat goes for $125 in section 318 – the upper bowl of the Air Canada Centre.
While the Leafs still consistently sell-out games, the team has not made the playoffs since 2004.
The Raptors have not made the playoffs since 2007-2008.
