Salmon Arm residents lost cash and jewelry this week in two separate break-ins, where it seems the thieves simply unlocked the doors in both cases.
Police said it looks like the thieves used keys hidden outside the homes to get in and take the valuables.

The crimes took place on 30th Street NE and 5th Avenue NE.
The incidents have police warning homeowners not to hide keys outside their houses.

The RCMP suggests installing a combination locking system on your door as a safer alternative.
Anyone who noticed suspicious activities near the break-in addresses on Sunday and Monday is asked to call police.
