Man injured after masked men force their way inside Saint-Laurent home

A man in his 50s was injured after at least three masked men forced their way into a home on Khalil-Gibran Street in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent borough Wednesday night.

Police said it happened just before midnight, when the man — one of two occupants inside the apartment — answered a knock at the door.

Montreal police spokesperson, Raphaël Bergeron, said a fight broke out and the man was cut after being hit over the head by one of the intruders.

The other occupant, a woman in her 40s, was not injured, but was treated for shock at the scene.

Bergeron said the suspects searched the home, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

It is believed the men fled in a dark-coloured, four-door vehicle.

The victims are not known to police and it remains unclear why the pair was targeted.
