-30 to -40 wind chills move out, making way for more snow and then a big melt!
Saskatoon Forecast
Thursday
-34 is what it felt like with wind chill early this morning as temperatures once again started the day down at -24, for the second day in a row.
Mist reduced visibility down to 1.6 kilometres at times overnight before clearing out by daybreak as we warmed all the way up to -15 degrees under mostly sunny skies by noon.
Beautiful blue skies and sunshine stuck around for the rest of the day as we sprung up to an afternoon high a degree or so into minus single digits.

Friday
That chance of light snow continues into Friday morning with only a centimetre or so expected as a low pressure system moves through during the day and keeps us in the clouds.
Warm, but breezy southeasterly winds that will kick in overnight will also stick around for the first half of the day, helping warm us up to around -3 for an afternoon high as the risk of flurries eases before returning in the evening.
Weekend
Saturday is likely to start off with a few lingering clouds from Friday’s system sliding out, but once skies clear by the middle of the day, it’ll be smooth sailing in the sunshine for the remainder of the weekend.
A big upper ridge of high pressure will also pump in the heat, pushing daytime highs toward the freezing mark both days – meaning lots of sloppy, slushy roads as all the snow that fell this week starts to melt.
Work Week Outlook
Most long-range models are holding that upper ridge of heat into the work week, which means daytime highs will continue to push toward and likely even above the freezing mark with lots more sunshine on the way!
