Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says an officer with Waterloo Regional Police has been charged with sexual assault.

The charge stems from an incident that happened on Oct. 14, 2017, during an Oktoberfest event at the Concordia Club in Kitchener.

The SIU says its investigators were contacted by Waterloo Regional Police on Oct. 16 regarding a complaint against the officer, who was off-duty at the time of the alleged incident.
