The Marvelous Magical Carnival was held at Bonnie Doon Community Centre Sunday in support of IKare4Kids.

The program collects recycled iPads and tablets, then donates them to families with children in hospital who are in need of financial support.

The latest health and medical news emailed to you every Sunday.

The devices provide many benefits for both the kids and their entire families.

“These iPads and tablets, which we take new or used in working order, service so many purposes,” organizer Deanna Hagen said. “Some of them are in isolation in the hospital and they don’t have anything to entertain them and parents can use them for billing or to Skype siblings back to their families usually when they’re displaced because they’re in the hospital.”

Guests were treated to food, games and a magic show.

The goal was to raise $4,000 from Sunday’s event.
