Novacks was an iconic London store for outdoor supplies for almost 75 years before it closed in 2012. Now it’s home to a novel two-day event, branded Pop Up Bar.

It’s being put on by the organizer of the Forest City Beer Fest, Aaron Brown.

“It’s coming from a place of wanting to do different types and styles of events at other times of the year and keep people entertained, find new ways to get good beer in front of people and have a different experience for them as well.”

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

If you aren’t a beer drinker, there’s a selection of regionally brewed ciders on tap as well to appeal to all tastes.

Brown said the event is a good way to sample what smaller local breweries have to offer.

“The main thing to expect is really solid well-picked beers from all over London and then really interesting elusive and hard to find gems from all over the province.”

The event takes place on March 2 and March 3, starting at 8 p.m. in the former Novacks building at 211 King St. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.popupbar.ca or http://www.forestcitybeerfest.com. Weekend passes are available as well.
