Nanaimo sheep escapes pen, attacks 2 children while on the lam

Two children and a daycare operator in Nanaimo suffered minor injuries after a sheep escaped his pen and charged them.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Moses, a two-year-old ram, slipped through the hole in his pen. While enjoying his freedom, he charged and knocked over two kids and a daycare worker who were passing by.

The children suffered bumps and bruises.

Moses’ owner, with the help of neighbours, captured the ram and got him back to his pen.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and the owner was genuinely upset and remorseful for the actions of one of her animals, and has taken corrective measures to ensure Moses does not escape again,” RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien said.
