Veteran Habs player Tomas Plekanec will not wear his uniform for Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The team confirmed the news via Twitter announcing that Plekanec and winger Logan Shaw will be healthy scratches.

Because Plekanec is not injured, the decision fuels the rumours that the 35-year-old centre could be traded before Monday, the NHL’s trade deadline.

The players didn’t train Saturday morning and did not meet with the media. Canadiens coach Claude Julien will hold a press conference Saturday afternoon at the Bell Centre.
