2 Edmontonians killed in northern Alberta collision

Two people from Edmonton died in a crash on Thursday south of Grande Prairie, Alta.

Grande Prairie RCMP were called to the site at about 12:45 p.m.

According to the RCMP, a southbound truck on Forestry Road crashed into an eastbound logging truck at the intersection of Canfor Road.

The truck driver, 67, and his passenger, 27, died at the scene.

A second female rider, from Mundare, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital via STARS Air Ambulance.

The logging driver was not injured.

Possibilities that could have led to the crash are being looked into by the police as the collision remains under investigation.
