A 48-year-old London man admits he’s feeling overwhelmed after winning $9 million in a Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

Daniel Dawson collected his winnings at the OLG prize centre in Toronto.

“I enjoy playing Lotto 6/49,” said Dawson. “I have been playing the same numbers for years — and I finally won.”

The City of London employee discovered his big win using the ticket checker.

“I brought my ticket to the cashier, who confirmed it was a winning ticket and we were both blown away,” explained Dawson. “Even when OLG called to confirm my win, I still couldn’t believe it.”

Dawson called his girlfriend right away to share the big news, and plans on sharing part of his winnings with his sister.

“I don’t know what I am going to do for myself yet,” he said. “I still need time to process it.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Petro Canada on Highbury Avenue in London.
