“There’s a great deal of community consultation and citizen engagement that went into the official naming of that bridge in 2007,” Ward 1 Coun. Darren Hill said on Tuesday.

“You can date that name, track that name all the way back to the opening of the bridge in 1907. I think that heritage and that history should have been respected.”
