Dayside wakeboarding events are followed by beer gardens and concerts.

Noise complaints have been raised in the past from residents in nearby neighbourhoods.

Councillor Pat Lorje, who has raised the noise issue in the past, says she is okay with the extension as long as there is adequate security and organizers adhere to the noise bylaw.

Money raised at WakeRide goes to support inner city youth programs in the city.
