Most containers are now destined for mining camps in northern B.C. or the Alberta oil sands. Because shipping containers are designed to be moved easily and stacked on top of each other, it is possible to use them for multi-level office buildings.
Siebenga says there are currently designs for a three storey structure though none have been built yet.
