A man is facing several charges after three people were injured in an alleged stabbing spree in downtown Vancouver Friday night, according to police.
The first stabbing happened at around 11 p.m. on Keefer near Taylor streets. A man was stabbed in the stomach and rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police tracked down the suspect outside the McDonalds Restaurant on Pender and Abbott streets. A second woman was found inside the restaurant suffering from slash wounds to her hands.
A third victim was found shortly after on Pender near Carrall streets. Both of those victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 23-year-old Surrey man is now in police custody and facing several assault and weapons-related charges, police said.
Police said the motive for the attacks is unknown, but the stabbings appear to be related.
