Firefighters battle large fire in Brampton

TORONTO – Firefighters in Brampton spent hours battling a large blaze that spread through three homes on Beaconsfield Avenue.

The fire started in one home just after noon at 76 Beaconsfield Avenue in Brampton near Chinguacousy Road and Steeles Avenue.

The fire quickly spread to the two surrounding homes, but one of those suffered little damage.

One home however suffered major damage.

Approximately 40 firefighters and 10 trucks battled the blaze for almost two hours before bringing it under control.

All residents have been evacuated and one person was transported to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Reports suggest the roof of one of the homes was in danger of collapsing and the chimney of one home collapsed during the blaze.
