Fire crews battled a large industrial fire in Cambridge Monday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the building on Sheffield Street at around 2 p.m. and thick black smoke could be seen from several kilometres away.

The building was believed to be vacant at the time of the blaze and was being used as a storage facility.
Sheffield Street was closed between Guelph and Clemens Avenues.
Some buildings in the area were evacuated, while nearby schools and homes were told to shelter in place with the windows and doors closed.
The Waterloo Region District School Board said affected schools were only releasing students to parents that were picking kids up in vehicles.
