The Saskatchewan Roughriders, they say, are everybody's second-favourite team. Evidently, that goes for the football gods, too. The gods smiled on the Montreal Alouettes in the 97th Grey Cup game — heck, they positively beamed — at the final gun, when the Roughriders' worst nightmare came true. Damon Duval's second game-winning field goal attempt — set up by a Saskatchewan too-many-men penalty on his first, failed attempt — put the arrow in the heart of Rider Nation and lifted the Alouettes to an impossible 28-27 victory.
