Did you steal some lobsters from a N.B. truck crash? Don’t eat them

RCMP are warning whoever took some lobsters from a truck accident early this morning in New Brunswick not to eat the contaminated crustaceans.

Officers in Blackville, N.B., responded to an overturned transport truck on Highway 8 at 2 a.m. on Oct. 31.

The truck was carrying live lobsters that were packed into crates, which were seen strewn along the side of the highway by daylight.

RCMP say some of the lobsters were stolen from the scene before they arrived.

They’re advising anyone who took the lobsters not to eat them because they are contaminated with diesel fuel from the crash and “are not fit for human consumption.”

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with minor injuries and released. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
