In Vancouver fire crews spent most of the morning ventilating a commercial building after a fire broke out in the escalator engine room.

Officials say it started around 2:30 in a building on Keefer Street near Gore Avenue.
No one was injured, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quite quickly, but not before smoke filled the building.
Investigators say the fire does not appear suspicious.
