Strong wind advisory for London and surrounding areas

Environment Canada warns of very strong winds for Sunday afternoon into Sunday night in London, Parkhill, Strathroy, Komolka, as well as Eastern and Western Middlesex County.

The winds are developing from the passage of a cold front on Sunday afternoon.

Wind gusts are expected to reach 70 to 80 km/h with gusts reaching up to 90 km/h in exposed areas near the Great Lakes.

The national weather agency warns that winds of this strength can cause isolated power outages and some tree damage.

The winds are expected to slowly diminish Sunday night.
