Trent Severn Waterway locks closing for the season

Parks Canada is wrapping up the boating season today. All locks along the Trent Severn Waterway are in operation from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 387-kilometre waterway features 41 locks, a marine railway and two hydraulic lift locks, one located in Peterborough.

This year’s boating season began two weeks late due to high water levels.

To celebrate Canada 150, the lockage system was free this year, allowing free passage through lock systems on all of Parks Canada’s national historic canals throughout the entire 2017 season.
