Car crashes through wall of Momentum Martial Arts in Saskatoon

A car crashed through the side of a Saskatoon building on Saturday evening.

The Saskatoon Fire Department was called to the collision shortly after 6 p.m. CT.

A fire crew arrived to find a small four-door vehicle had crashed through a cinderblock wall of Momentum Martial Arts near the intersection of 33rd Street West and Avenue D North.

No one was in the the building at the time.

The 65-year-old driver of the vehicle was able to get out of the vehicle. She was not injured.

Firefighters assisted in removing a 97-year-old woman through the rear passenger-side door. She was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The rescue crew assessed the building for major structural damage.

Saskatoon police believe the cause of the crash may be related to a mechanical malfunction. No charges are expected to be laid.
