A Moncton man has been charged in connection with four armed robberies at various banks in the city.
Terry Dean Leger, 49, was arrested on Thursday near a bank on Cornhill Street.

The charges stem from RCMP investigations into robberies that took place on Aug. 15 at the Advance Savings Credit Union on St. George Street, Sept. 6 and 21 and the UNI Bank on St. George Street, Sept. 11 at the Advance Savings Credit Union on Weldon Street and the attempted robbery on Thursday outside the OMISTA Credit Union on Cornhill Street.

In each of the media releases following the bank robberies, RCMP said the suspect demanded cash from the teller and claimed he had a weapon.
Leger appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Friday and is charged with four counts of robbery, committing an indictable offence while having his face masked and attempted robbery.
He was sent for a 30-day psychiatric assessment and will be back in court on Nov. 3.
