Officials say the Las Vegas shooter rented a room in the city around the same time that an alternative music festival was taking place from Sept. 22 to 24.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo told reporters that Stephen Paddock rented a room through Airbnb at the Ogden hotel in downtown Las Vegas but he didn’t know why. CBS News reported that the gunman had requested specific suites, but they had already been booked.

A police source told CBS investigators were looking into whether or not he was targeting the Life is Beautiful festival, which featured Chance the Rapper, Muse, Lorde and Blink-182.

In a news conference Wednesday night, Lombardo also updated the death toll to 58, down from 59. he also said around 489 people were injured, and of that, over 300 have already been discharged from hospital.

Paddock had 1,600 rounds of ammunition and several containers of an explosive commonly used in target shooting that totaled 50 pounds in his car.

Lombardo said he didn’t know what the gunman was planning with the explosives, if anything.

Lombardo also said none of the cameras that Paddock put up in his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino were recording as he fired down on the crowd. Authorities said he set up cameras in the peephole of the door and outside the room to watch for police closing in on him.

FBI officials said there was no evidence to indicate that the mass shooting was terrorism.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse also said federal authorities have questioned the girlfriend of the gunman and no one has been taken into custody as a suspected accomplice.
