Section of Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway to close Thanksgiving weekend

Repairs to the railway will force the province to close the Perimeter Highway just north of Dugald Road.

Barricades will go up at 7 p.m. Friday and stay in place until around 3 p.m. Monday. Both north and south lanes will be blocked.

A news release from the Manitoba government said drivers should find a way around the closure.

“Permitted oversized and overweight vehicles will be required to use alternate routes that have been approved by Manitoba Infrastructure and the City of Winnipeg,” the release stated.

CN Railway will be doing the repairs.
