Hamilton’s real estate market is showing signs that it has cooled off.

The Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington reports 1,004 properties were sold in September, down 23 per cent from the same month last year.

Nearly 2,300 properties went up for sale last month, 17 per cent more than September 2016.

Realtors Association CEO George O’Neill says the sales to new listings ratio has dropped to the 44 per cent range, a big change from the 80 per cent range from earlier this year.

The average price of homes sold last month was more than $564,000, compared to $517,000 in September 2016.
