Police closed part of Highway 22X in south Calgary on Tuesday night as they investigated a deadly two-vehicle crash.
They said the collision occurred by 88 Street S.E. just before 8 p.m. and left one person dead while another was listed in serious but stable condition.
Police said Highway 22X would be closed indefinitely at the scene of the crash while investigators try to determine what happened.
The eastbound lanes of the highway are closed east of Stoney Trail and the westbound lanes are closed at 104 Street.
