Early morning robbery, assault leads to six arrests by Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police arrested six people in connection to a robbery and assault from Sept. 20.

Officers responded to the incident in the 1100 block of Selkirk Avenue at 6 a.m. after hearing reports of an armed robbery.

The victim told police the suspects forced their way into his house, assaulted him, then stole money and car keys at gun point. The suspects then fled the area in two stolen vehicles.

Police said they spotted one of the stolen vehicles Sept. 21 at 1:30 a.m. near Main Street and Bannerman Avenue. Officers pulled the vehicle over and a 21-year-old woman was arrested and 7.5 grams of meth were seized.

On Sept. 27, police spotted he second vehicle near Charles Street and Manitoba Avenue. After officers conducted a traffic stop, one man and three women were arrested. A can of pepper spray, .60 grams of meth, score sheets, scales and a number of cell phones were seized.

A few days later, on Sept. 30 just before 4 p.m. general patrol officers along with the tactical unit responded to reports of a firearm seen in the 1600 block of Ross Avenue. A man and woman were taken into custody and an “inoperable shotgun” and five shells were seized.

Police connected the man to the robbery on Sept. 20. In all, four women and two men were arrested.

Mark David Huron, 26, was charged with:

  • Break & Enter with Intent
  • Armed Robbery Using a Restricted Firearm or Prohibited Firearm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possess Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 4
  • Possess Firearm, Restricted/prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized x 2

Nicole Charlene Brunet, 25, was charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possess Weapon x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x 2
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 9

Ava Sarah Sinclair, 21, was charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Catherine Lynn Angus, 40, was charged with:

  • Possess Weapon x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x 2
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

Jordan Andrew Chartrand, 22, was charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possess Weapon x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x 2
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply with recognizance x 4

Heather Elizabeth Pitsaniuk, 20, was charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possess Weapon x 2
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Possession if Unauthorized x 2
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance of the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
