In a tweet, the police department says a 19-year-old Novice driver was stopped, after being clocked doing 175 kilometres per hour a 90 kilometre-per-hour zone.

The teen’s vehicle was impounded and he was handed $700 in fines under the Motor Vehicle Act.

It’s the latest in a series of excessive speeding busts on the North Shore.

In September, another driver with a green “N” sticker was stopped for doing 160 km/h on Highway 1.

And in July, a 22-year-old West Vancouver man had his Ferrari impounded, after police say he was clocked driving 210 kilometres per hour over the Lions Gate bridge.
