A driver who was arrested for attempting to evade a Saskatoon police traffic unit turned out to be the man wanted for a shooting this weekend.
Officers and paramedics were called to the 300-block of Avenue H South where they found a 29-year-old man with a small-calibre gunshot wound to the arm.

Investigators believe an altercation had occurred between the man and the shooter, who was known to the victim.
The 29-year-old was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Shortly after, police were conducting speed enforcement on the east end of 8th Street when a pickup truck began to evade their traffic unit.

The vehicle ended up getting stuck in a field on the east end of Taylor Street and a man fled the truck on foot.
Police dog Brian was brought in to assist in the arrest of the man, who was found under the deck of a house. He sustained minor injuries from a dog bite.
At around 3:15 a.m. CT on Sunday, police said the man in custody was involved in the shooting that had occurred on Avenue H earlier that evening.
