Fire ban lifted for Little Red River Park

Officials with Prince Albert Fire and Emergency Services announced Friday that the fire ban for Little Red River Park, and all residential properties north of the North Saskatchewan River, has been lifted.

Open fires in these areas are once again allowed in designated areas and receptacles.

The temporary ban had been in place due to extreme wildfire conditions.

Officials said cooking fires in designated receptacles and approved fire pits within the city located south of the river were never affected by the ban.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment has issued a ban on all open fires for provincial Crown land south of the Churchill River, which includes provincial parks.
