Winnipeggers have voted and the red pandas born this summer at the Assiniboine Park Zoo now have names.
The boy cub will now be called Suva, meaning ‘good luck’ in Nepali, and his sister has been named Tanvi, meaning ‘delicate girl’.
The siblings were born June 13 but before they were named the Zoo turned to the public for help.
Using names provided by its zookeepers the public was asked to vote online.
International Red Panda day is Sept. 16. Free red panda zipper pulls are being handed out to visitors at the zoo this weekend.
